I got grouped!

First of all, it's been almost exactly one year since I last blogged...Not really sure if anyone is reading this besides myself, but in case you were wondering, I am still alive.

Next item of business.  Those Groupon peeps.  Boy are they sneaky.  Over the last 3 weeks they have somehow brought to my attention and made me believe that I absolutely needed to:

1) Sign up for a furniture glazing how-to class
2) Buy a shutterfly photo book and
3) Get eyelash extensions

I will let you know how all three of my purchases turn out, since I haven't redeemed any of them yet.

Third item of business for today's post is The Book of MormonSome girls in my local church were invited to take part in 'March Madness'.  But instead of spending hours a day watching college basketball games and highlights, we spent about an hour a day reading the Book of Mormon.  The challenge was to pick a topic or idea and highlight it every time it came up in your reading.  I chose the topic of "Christ."  After every verse of scripture I asked myself,

"What can I learn about Christ from this verse?"
One month later, I can boldy testify that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ.  I know the bible to be the word of God, as well as the Book of Mormon.  This challenge was difficult but completely worth it.  I came to know the people within the book better and more importantly I came to know my Savior better.

While in the Missionary Training Center, preparing to serve a full-time mission, Sister Susan Easton Black spoke to us about the Book of Mormon (BOM).  She explained that the BOM is a story within a story.  You read about Nephi, Lehi, Abinadi, Mormon, and Moroni...but underneath all their stories is the Savior.  I testify that the Savior lives today.  I know his mercy is extended to ALL his children, no matter their past or present state.  He was sent to this earth by a loving Heavenly Father who has a plan for each of us to return to Him after this life.

I love this Easter season.  After spending so much time in the scriptures this last month, I more so have my "spiritual eyes" on to recognize that the life of Jesus Christ, His death and His resurrection are central to Heavenly Father's plan.  I know it wasn't easy for Christ, and is therefore not going to be easy for me.  But I know it will be worth it.

Happy Easter!
